A frequent question from our customers: How do I check the correct oil level in the gear of the flail mulcher?
Often one stands a little perplexed in front of the device, especially when the operating instructions are kept a little "lukewarm" and do not want to give any concrete help. A dipstick is often not available ... so what should be done?
In many devices, Comer gearboxes (or identical) are installed that have a vent screw at the top. You start turning them. You can see a bare shaft through the threaded hole that has become free. This shaft should just be covered with oil ... so the gearbox is a little more than half full.
If you fill the gearbox completely with oil, the seals / oil seals will not handle it and you will notice first that after a short ride with the device, the oil comes out of the venting screw. So please only fill so that the wave is just covered.
This is also a very good gauge to refill.
Which oil to take, you can in any case refer to the supplied operating instructions. All our flail mulchers we deliver to the customer are in the original equipment suitably filled with oil and all lubrication points are lubricated accordingly.
We Incidentally, offer a very good gear oilthat we use ourselves in the workshop. So if you don't want to search long, we look forward to your order, which can be completed with a few clicks ... we usually deliver within Germany on account. Shipping by UPS ... it couldn't be faster or easier.
Incidentally, you should change the gear oil at least once a year for private use. The colder season is ideal here if you want to store the device anyway ... or spring to get your mulcher fit again for the next use.
Mostly located below the transmission, a drain screw that is easy to open. If you have any questions, my staff at Landmaschinen Neuhaus will be glad to help you!
