The time to tow the meadows is approaching! In addition to the simple and cheapest solution with old tires, pallets or the like, which you stretch behind the tractor and then at least roughly smooth the ground, a "meadow drag" is of course a professional solution and an investment in optimal growth promotion.
Towing is generally understood to mean the towing of the meadow with a meadow drag pulled by the tractor and hanging in a three-point manner. The meadow drag consists essentially of a metal frame and a chain net suspended in it with heavy cast stars that are able to tear up a mossy ground and work on thatched grass. So-called "turning stars" with an aggressive, serrated and flat side to level molehills etc. are ideal.

The metal frame of the train should have lateral skids made of round tube, but also horizontally arranged angle steel strips. In particular, the angle steel bars ensure even before the network, the bumps and molehills are better peeled off and leveled.
The aim of the whole action is on the one hand an improved ventilation (scarify with the more aggressive jagged star side) which stimulates the growth and on the other a smoothing of the soil (flat side of the stars) to avoid eg breeding places (cocksfoot) in the molehills and later contamination of the Prevent feeds if your meadow is to be mowed in the summer for food ..
It is usually towed from the end of March to May, whereby one should make sure that the time of the ground frost is over, because the scarifying affects the sward, which then reacts sensitively to frost.
